Alcott HR Sr. HVAC Installation Technician in Farmingdale, New York

Alcott HR is assisting with recruitment for a Sr. HVAC Installer (Team Lead). In this role, you will service, repair, or replace air conditioners, warm air furnaces, duct distribution systems, boilers, water heaters and related piping and electrical components. You will be the lead to solve tough problems and work through the most challenging installations and replacements. You will be responsible for mentoring others on your team, and you’ll work directly with local customers to service their equipment. You can be based anywhere in Long Island, Brooklyn or Queens and will work daily on open jobs closest to your home.

In this role, you will:

  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and repair all issues that arise with equipment functionality.

  • Work with 2-3 Jr. Technicians daily, mentoring them on the technical and customer facing skills needed to be successful in the HVAC industry.

  • Service and adjust equipment to the manufacturer’s specifications.

  • Maintain clear communication to the consumer on the proper operation and maintenance of the installed equipment.

  • Be knowledgeable on various municipalities plan requirements, permit requirements, and submittal processes.

  • Be available to answer customer questions related to operation, features, and functions.

  • Perform required documentation for each call, recording recommendations, repairs, accurate readings, and observations. Collect payments, and ensure client completes necessary paperwork.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the products and services being offered.

    The ideal candidate for this opportunity will:

  • Have 3-5+ years of experience working with HVAC installations and/or HVAC equipment replacements.

  • Be experienced leading and/or mentoring other technicians.

  • Be able to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.

  • Have basic knowledge and hands on experience with control wiring.

  • Be customer service oriented and enjoy speaking to, and training customers on equipment.

  • Have superior interpersonal skills and strive to provide the highest level of service.

  • Regularly review and monitor progress against goals.
