The job description is for a farmworker/groom for a Thoroughbred racehorse farm. NACIS code 711219, SOC code 45-0000, ONET code 45-2093 Farmworkers, farm, ranch. The occupational Title is Farmworker Livestock code 410.664.010 with SVP 4.

The job includes feeding, watering, cleaning stalls, grooming, bathing, giving medications, bandaging, detecting illness and injuries, walking horses, swimming and turning horses out. These job duties only take place at the worksite listed. These activities take place during our peak season which spans from March 15, till December 31. All of the 12 horses at the worksite is owned by Linda Kay Dixon. Must be able to lift 100lbs.

Must have experience with Thoroughbred racehorses and yearling Thoroughbreds. Must be capable of handling fractious young horses.

Requirements:

  • Three months experience with Thoroughbred racehorses and yearling Thoroughbreds.
  • Must Understand English
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds
  • Random drug testing can be performed post hire at the employer's expense
  • Extensive sitting/walking, frequent stooping, and repetitive movements
