North Star Farm LLC Farm Worker in Franklin, New York

2 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 02/19/2024 - 09/02/2024

Pruning, string trimming, mowing in and around fields, mulching blueberry bushes, weeding, removing old bushes, planting, spraying, assisting manager for insects, putting out sticky traps, driving tractor, mower, side by side. Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (weather on or off the farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach the farm fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Maintain water irrigation lines and report any leaks to management, if needed apply different types of soil remediation, harvest blueberries.
Chestnut Trees - Apply fertilizer around base of tree, string trim around tree, and prune if necessary.
Cut Flowers - water when necessary, weed and harvest flowers for wholesale or retail purposes. Mowing around farm and beautification around farm. Clean out barns after winter in springtime and assist with planting trees & vegetables.

Alcohol and drug abuse will not be tolerated. Workers must adhere to the food safety standards outlined in the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) manual. Workers will be given a mandatory day of rest, and on the remaining days of the week, the will be expected to work weather permitting. All workers are to be treated with respect and dignity; they are a critical part of this farm. The workers are also expected to treat the farm's facilities as if they are their own. The farm's housing should be kept clean. When the workers leave, the facilities should be returned to the condition in which they were upon arrival.

Requirements:
* Three months experience of the duties mentioned * Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
* Exposure to extreme temperatures
* Extensive pushing/pulling/sitting/walking, frequent stooping, and repetitive movements
