2 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 05/06/2024- 11/20/2024.

Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to: Assist with the planting of grain corn. Assist with field preparation and zone building. Assist with the operation of tractors and related equipment for field preparation. Assist with the harvesting of: hay and straw. Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting of fruits and vegetables including but not limited to: Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Cantaloupe, Pickling Cucumbers, Table stock cucumbers, Garlic, Green Beans, Hot Peppers, Eggplant, Lettuce, Peppers, Radishes, Summer Squash, Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, Watermelon, Winter Squash (Acorn, Butternut, Spaghetti), Zucchini, Corn Stalks, Pumpkins and Potatoes.

Use appropriate method for type of vegetable when planting, cultivating and harvesting to ensure produce quality and worker safety. Be able to safely use various harvest techniques with clippers, knives & by hand. Work with Team Leader/Management determining work assignment. Harvest vegetables using correct techniques and guidelines/criteria directed by the Team Leader/Management. Put vegetables in direct containers and load on truck/wagon for transport. May tie vegetables in specific size bunches using rubber bands. May remove top foliage from vegetables. May wash vegetable by hand or mechanically. May pack vegetables to be shipped to stores. May assist with other farm maintenance. Be able to work outside in variable weather conditions. Assist with GAP and FSMA compliance. Due to health & safety concerns on our farm, workers must understand basic instructions in English. While working in the field, all cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only.

Requirements:

  • 3 months experience in the duties described
  • Driver requirements (class D)
  • Extensive walking, extensive pushing/pulling and frequent stooping
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Lifting requirement of 75 lbs.
  • Repetitive movements
