Description

The Legal Assistant works closely with the Collections Attorney and Collections Representatives in the account litigation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Court calendar

  • Prepare Court Appearance Directives and documents

  • Obtain outcomes of Court cases

  • Schedule Per Diems to appear in lieu of Collections Attorney

  • Prepare Litigation Authorizations as needed

  • Prepare and file Summons & Complaint

  • After Summons & Complaint is filed in Court, send them to the Process Server

  • Ensure the Defendant is timely served and Affidavit of Service is timely filed

  • Review the monthly invoice from Process Server

  • Schedule follow up with client if the Plaintiff Affidavit is not returned

  • Prepare, track and file Stipulations of Settlement

  • Prepare, track and file Stipulations of Discontinuance and Notice of Discontinuance

    Requirements:

  • Must be computer-savvy with experience using Microsoft Excel

  • Strong organization and time-management skills

  • Reliable, detail-oriented and resourceful

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comply with HIPAA and FDCPA guidelines

    Schedule: Monday through Friday – 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
