Position Summary

The Geneseo Engagement Manager supports all aspects of the annual giving operation and holds key responsibilities in shaping a strong and productive Phonathon program. The Engagement Manager measures by participation rates, gift income, average gifts and pledges through the Phonathon program. The Engagement Manager develops, creates and implements an integrated telemarketing program that supports the annual giving goals, and also develops and executes Geneseo’s student giving program with a strong focus on the senior class. The Engagement Manager works closely with the Advancement Content Marketing Director and Director of Advancement Services through marketing initiatives for annual fund and data management through new Phonathon software and CRM . Evening work is required. Work hours for September-May are 12pm-8pm.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least one year experience in fundraising, telemarketing, or communications

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication

  • Exceptional organizational skills including multi-tasking, attention to detail and meeting deadlines

  • Demonstrated decision making capability

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment

  • Ability to manage teams proficiency in Microsoft Word or Excel and learn new software

  • A commitment to the campus values of diversity and inclusion

Coordinate student calling program – Phonathon

Manage data extraction and uploading to Vanilla Soft calling system and reporting

Manage calling calendar plotting out segment calling for the Fall and Spring season with appropriate scripts for each season

Hire and train callers and student managers

Monitor student callers and managers

Manage sequence calling

Manage the Spring and Fall calling sessions to secure contributions

Create segmented email scripts with the Advancement Content Marketing Director

Percentage Of Time 25%

Student Giving Program

Recruit Gift co-chairs and core of student giving/senior gift committee members

Hold meetings to organize student giving initiatives

Support student giving events throughout the year

Manage student philanthropic initiatives that engages current students and trains them to be alumni leaders after graduation

Manage social media accounts for student giving and create social media content

Coordinate senior check presentation and senior donor celebration

Percentage Of Time 20%

Know the Vanilla Soft Software

Work in CRM to update alumni profiles

Manually enter pledges into CRM
