Position Information

Campus Title Lecturer in Accounting

Department School of Business

Position Summary

The School of Business at SUNY Geneseo is inviting applications for an anticipated opening of a full-time, Lecturer position in Accounting to begin August 2024. The initial appointment is for one year and eligible for renewal.

Duties of the position include:

  • Teach four undergraduate and/or graduate courses in tax, managerial accounting, and auditing per semester in both fall and spring semesters.

  • Academic advising and mentoring of students.

  • Site supervision for Geneseo’s Volunteers in Tax Assistance ( VITA ) program

  • Service to the School of Business, the College, our community, and the discipline

    Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Posses CPA status and a Master’s degree in Accounting or a highly related discipline

  • Demonstrated record of high quality classroom performance

  • Ability to maintain professional qualification by AACSB standards

  • Three or more years of part-time or full-time teaching experience that includes face-to-face and online classes

  • Four or more years of substantive professional experience

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex material in a clear and organized manner and to work with students with diverse backgrounds

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional professional certifications (e.g. CMA , CFE , CIA , CISA , EA, CTP )

  • Teaching and professional experience that exceeds the minimum requirements.

  • Active involvement in the professional community.

  • The ability and interest to develop new courses such as Internal Audit

  • Ability to teach a summer course
