Kindred Fare - A Spirited Cookeryis a full-service restaurant located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with a focus on scratch cookery using seasonal & local ingredients. We have been featured in Forbes, Wine Spectator, Eater, and have won "Best Farm to Table Restaurant" four years in a row by The Finger Lakes Times Readers' Choice Awards. We are extremely popular with locals & travelers to our region with positive online reviews and guest feedback. We have a strong beverage focus with cool climate wine & spirits & are highly engaged in the local industry. On Monday nights our culinary team works together to build a three-course themed prix fixe, something our community looks forward to each week. Restaurant Cook:

We are currently looking for full-time hard working & experienced individual to join us in our kitchen for both preparation & service working around 30-40 hours per week. We’re a scratch kitchen, so some things take a little extra effort, but we’re here for it. And hey - our guests like it, too! You would be working under our Executive Chef & Executive Sous Chef in this role.

Requirements

What we expect from you:

  • 2+ years of previous kitchen experience - high-end & high-volume setting preferred

  • a great attitude with genuine respect for your craft and for hospitality

  • culinary kills in all areas of the kitchen & on the line including: garde-manger, pantry, fryer, sauté & grill

  • to stay current & creative with culinary & hospitality trends

  • to present new ideas for menus, presentation, and improving current dishes

  • have strong time management skills on the line

  • be an active listener & problem solver, communicate effectively with all teammates

  • be a professional: remain composed & communicate clearly with your teammates

  • we are in an open kitchen environment and “on stage” at all times

  • strive to exceed expectations of our team and guests daily

  • self motivated with an attention to detail

  • uphold the highest standards of food safety, food handling and sanitation & cleaning requirements

  • full-time or part-time availability & willingness to be flexible with our team as needed

Salary Description

$20-$25 per hour
