Kindred Fare - A Spirited Cookeryis a full-service restaurant located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with a focus on scratch cookery using seasonal & local ingredients. We have been featured in Forbes, Wine Spectator, Eater, and have won "Best Farm to Table Restaurant" four years in a row by The Finger Lakes Times Readers' Choice Awards. We are extremely popular with locals & travelers to our region with positive online reviews and guest feedback. We have a strong beverage focus with cool climate wine & spirits & are highly engaged in the local industry. On Monday nights our culinary team works together to build a three-course themed prix fixe, something our community looks forward to each week. Restaurant Cook:

We are currently looking for hard working individuals to join us on the line in our kitchen for both preparation & service. We’re a scratch kitchen, so some things take a little extra effort, but we’re here for it. And hey - our guests like it, too! You will be working under our Executive Chef & Executive Sous Chef in this role.

Requirements

What we expect from you:

  • 2+ years of previous kitchen experience - high-end & high-volume setting preferred

  • culinary kills in some or all areas of the kitchen & on the line including: garde-manger, pantry, fryer, sauté & grill - Are you new to this? Let us know so we can give you the training you’ll need to get up to speed!

  • to stay current & creative with culinary & hospitality trends

  • to present new ideas for menus, presentation, and improving current dishes

  • have strong time management skills on the line

  • be an active listener & problem solver, communicate effectively with all teammates

  • be a professional: remain composed & communicate clearly with your teammates

  • we are in an open kitchen environment and “on stage” at all times

  • full-time or part-time availability & willingness to be flexible with our team as needed

  • dependable with open availability 3-7 days a week as we are open Sunday - Saturday.

Salary Description

$19-$25 per hour based on experience
