$3,000 SIGNING BONUSJob Title: LPN (Children’s Program Nurse)Location: Happiness House - Geneva siteSalary $22.00 - $24.00 per hourEmployment Full Time/School Year position - Monday through Friday during program hours (8:00am-4:00pm). Position follows the school calendar & includes 6-week Summer program. All school breaks are paid! Includes 10 Paid Holidays! PTO and Paid Sick Time! Signing BonusSummary/Objective: Oversees the health and safety needs of students in the preschool program and ensures all health requirements are addressed and adhered to at all times. Provides education and training to employees regarding the health needs of children in program.Minimum Qualifications1. New York State Licensed Practical Nurse.2. One to two years of clinical experience, preferably including work with young children with disabilities.3. Certified in CPR and First Aid, certification as an instructor preferred.4. Valid NYS driver’s license.Responsibilities include:1. Imparts agency philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to children, families, program staff and community resources.2. Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.3. Reviews current health and immunization records of program participants for compliance with regulations of NYS Education Department, Department of Health and other state and federal regulatory agencies.4. Assists Supervisor of Health Services and QA in the development of an Individualized Health Plan (IHP) for children with significant medical needs.5. Instructs staff on infection control and other current health related issues, which affect services to program participants and their families.6. Certifies staff in CPR and first aid per American Red Cross requirements, if certified as an instructor.7. Administers medications and nursing procedures to program participants based upon established guidelines and agency policies.8. Advises parents/guardians on health issues and practices during agency visits/parent conferences.9. Facilitates referrals of program participants to community medical personnel and other appropriate community resources.10. Promotes preventative and wellness health services to families of program participants and staff as appropriate.11. Administers first aid as needed in cases of student illness and accidents.12. Assists with vision and hearing screenings and growth and assessment of program participants.13. Participates in the reporting and filing of cases of suspected abuse or maltreatment to the NYS Child Abuse and Maltreatment Reporting Center.14. Maintains Incident Report statistics reporting them to the agency Incident Review Committee.15. Maintains communication as appropriate with parents and staff members concerning health issues of program participants.16. Conducts emergency evacuation drills on a routine basis.17. Supervises staff in case of emergency.18. Maintains all paperwork as required by the agency and the Universal Pre-Kindergarten collaborations, including monitoring completion and filing of Incident Reports.19. Participates as a member of the Health and Safety Committee.20. Functions as a member of various agency interdisciplinary teams.21. Maintains the cleanliness and orderly appearance of the nursing office and supplies.22. Maintains employee medical files in a confidential manner.23. Provides health and safety orientation to new employees.24. Oversees and ensures employee health files are current.25. Assists with the oversight, implementation, daily operations and documentation for the Child and Adults Food Care Program (CACFP).26. Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.27. Adheres to agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.28.
