Hobart and William Smith Colleges Post and Print Services Clerk in Geneva, New York

Assists with various Post & Print Services operational duties which include supporting the functions of a full-service shipping, receiving and print operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, process, and deliver UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS packages/mail for faculty, staff, and students.

  • Process outgoing mail and packages received from campus offices.

  • Monitor Post Office and Print Services email.

  • Operate addressing/barcoding machine, and metering machine.

  • Help support large mailing requests including the prep of and usage of the large mailing system and preparing postage statement forms to be sent with mailings.

  • Help prepare monthly postage statement billing for standard class and first-class bulk mailings.

  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of the filing system of vendors, service providers, supply orders, and invoices and assist with and maintain inventory of supplies.

  • Support needs in Print Services as required, including the use of and assisting in troubleshooting systems such as printers, laminators, and other printing equipment.

  • Participates in cross-functional projects at a departmental level.

  • Represents Colleges and the department as a principal contact for community members, vendors, contractors, and the public.

  • Must complete all required federal, state, institution, and department training.

  • Engages in a planned program of professional development. Continually maintains skills and knowledge relative to the position and technology industry, including best practices, evolving operational requirements, and industry trends.

  • Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Colleges’ educational philosophy and mission.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills required.

  • This position requires regular lifting bags or mail or boxes of paper up to 50 lbs. and includes continual bending and stretching.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.

  • Possess strong communication skills and be willing to take initiative.

  • Strong customer service orientation; positive, helpful, resourceful.

  • Highly reliable, flexible, and adaptable.

Other Information:

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible position. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year, with a possible shortened workweek during the scheduled summer hours’ time period. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be necessary. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.

Salary $35,000 - 37,000 annually
