Kindred Fare - A Spirited Cookeryis a full-service restaurant located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with a focus on scratch cookery using seasonal & local ingredients. We are extremely popular with locals & travelers to our region with positive online reviews and guest feedback. We have a strong beverage focus with cool climate wine & spirits & are highly engaged in the local industry. On Monday nights our culinary team works together to build a three-course themed prix fixe, something our community looks forward to each week. Food Runner
We're seeking experienced hospitality professionals to join us on bustling evenings at our vibrant and sociable restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, adept at liaising between kitchen and front-of-house teams. This isn't an entry-level role; we require individuals with prior high-volume restaurant experience. The food runner's shift begins between 3 PM - 4:45 PM, spanning 3-6 hours during operational hours.
A food runner, is a tipped front-of-house position, & plays a crucial role in the restaurant's service process. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the timely & accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to the diners' tables. This involves coordinating with the kitchen staff to gather completed dishes, ensuring they are correctly plated, & delivering them to the appropriate tables. Additionally, food runners may assist in various front-of-house tasks such as setting up & clearing tables, refilling water glasses, & providing general support to the serving staff to ensure a smooth dining experience for customers. Overall, food runners contribute to the efficiency of service and enhance the overall dining experience for guests
What we expect from you:
2+ year of previous restaurant experience -high-end & high-volume setting preferred
effective communication & team work- you need to be able to work with all service staff all while communicating with the kitchen & guests
to be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
advanced knowledge of our food menu, preparation & presentation
strong organizational & prioritization skills
to assist all team members with bussing, running food, guest assistance, side work & other tasks where needed
basic wine, beer & cocktail recipe knowledge- advanced & regional knowledge preferred
to stay current & creative with culinary, beverage & hospitality trends
to complete side work & cleaning duties to standard
to maintain a clean and organized dining room & all FOH stations
strong customer service & communication skills
be a professional: remain composed -you are “on stage” at all times that you are in the dining room

Salary Description
$10 plus tips (averaging around $18-$25per hour).
