Description

Kindred Fare - A Spirited Cookeryis a full-service restaurant located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with a focus on scratch cookery using seasonal & local ingredients. We have been featured in Forbes, Wine Spectator, Eater, and have won "Best Farm to Table Restaurant" four years in a row by The Finger Lakes Times Readers' Choice Awards. We are extremely popular with locals & travelers to our region with positive online reviews and guest feedback. We have a strong beverage focus with cool climate wine & spirits & are highly engaged in the local industry. On Monday nights our culinary team works together to build a three-course themed prix fixe, something our community looks forward to each week. Our open kitchen celebrates the culinary craft & keeps our whole team in sync with the guests. If this sounds like an environment you would like to work in, it’s time we hear from you!

Host

We are currently looking for experienced hospitality professionals to work on the floor with us for busy nights at our lively & social restaurant. The host will have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to exude charm and sophistication under pressure. The host has strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage reservations and seating efficiently. A host has proficiency in reservation management software and basic computer skills. A passion for providing memorable dining experiences and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations. Our host must have impeccable presentation and style, with a keen eye for fashion within the Kindred Fare brand aesthetic.

What we can expect from you:

  • previous hosting experience -high-end & high-volume setting preferred

  • Ambassador of Style -Uphold the restaurant's aesthetic standards by presenting oneself in a polished and fashionable manner that fit our brand

  • Manage reservation systems efficiently, ensuring accurate bookings and timely communication with guests

  • Coordinate with the kitchen and servers to optimize seating arrangements and accommodate special requests

  • ability to communicate with the guest to meet their requests & guide them through reservations, experiences, & answer any questions

  • Anticipate guests' needs and proactively address any concerns or inquiries with grace and style

  • meet & greet guests, answer telephones, manage reservations, special requests & guest flow in the restaurant

  • guide guests to their tables promptly, taking into account preferences and special occasions

  • to effectively strategize seating to both accommodate guests & streamline the efficiency of the restaurant

  • to assist all team members with bussing, running food, side work & other tasks where needed

  • basic wine, beer & cocktail recipe knowledge- advanced & regional knowledge preferred

  • to stay current & creative with culinary, beverage & hospitality trends

  • to complete side work & cleaning duties to standard

  • to maintain a clean and organized dining room & all FOH stations

  • strong customer service skills

  • effective communication & team work- you need to be able to work with all service staff all while communicating with the kitchen and guests

  • be a professional: remain composed -you are “on stage” at all times that you are in the dining room

  • full-time or part-time availability & willingness to be flexible with our team as needed

Salary Description

$10 per hour, plus tips
