Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and have significant impact across the lifecycle of a trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group, dedicated to overseeing the Organizational service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first-class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Business Intelligence and Process Re-engineering group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges. We partner with Citi’s innovation labs to drive optimization, and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology partners develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. Job Purpose:

Asset Servicing is a Markets Operations organization within the Institutional Clients Group at Citi, and is responsible for the management of global mandatory and voluntary Income and Corporate Action events, across equity and fixed income products. The team’s play a significant role in supporting both internal and external clients throughout the lifecycle of large-scale events, including Dividend season, Corporate restructuring, Shareholder Meetings, Mergers, Acquisitions, and Bankruptcies, providing a unique opportunity to play a real-time, impactful part in market transactions. The Organization provides client-orientated support to both the front and middle offices; supporting, Prime Brokerage, Stock lending, Firm Trading Desks, Repo and SWAPS for both Equity and Fixed Income.

This is an Assistant Vice President (AVP) role and will be an Asset Servicing Team Coordinator overseeing and managing daily operations related to the corporate actions lifecycle, including election instructions and entitlement processing. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing, high profile and energized team providing daily support to our Global Traders and Clients.

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic team players, with a strong work ethic, with at least 4 years work experience, ideally in Corporate Actions Processing.

You will play a pivotal part in helping to support the lifecycle of a trade. Working closely with Business partners, Client’s, and internal stakeholders to ensure all transactions flow through the corporate actions lifecycle, with no issues.

You will develop a broad and detailed understanding of the Organization’s landscape, culture, processes, and Technology.

You will have the opportunity to recommend creative suggestions on how to improve processes to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risk better serve our Clients. This role will incorporate the following:

Risk Management:

  • Overseeing and executing critical core operations activities to maintain a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continually monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis

  • Daily Collaboration across Global Clients, Trading, and Operations teams to provide solutions and identify/resolve root cause.

  • Acting as key point of contact for the team across internal and external stakeholders

  • Identifying trends, synergies and weaknesses across products and regions

  • Recommending control enhancements as needed

People & Inclusion Agenda:

Organizational Transformation:

  • Providing input to simplify, improve and measure processes by delivering enhancements to the control environment, and the customer journey with input to design techniques and digital automation

  • Providing valuable input into strategic platform re-engineering initiatives, reducing manual touch points and aligning tech delivery vs. business goals and wallet share optimization

  • Providing input into initiatives to continuously improve straight through processing (STP) rates, including the use of robotics, workflow and other innovative re-engineering techniques

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide line oversight of the corporate actions processing functions, from announcement to reconciliation, election, entitlement processing, and break resolution while ensuring all risk is properly managed

  • Assist with day-to-day management of processing ad-hoc instructions for conversions, SPAC Splits (detachments), warrants, exchanges, DRS, and legend removals

  • Perform key reconciliations and controls to support processing of the corporate action lifecycle and break management; initiate high focus event communications for high risk and complex events

  • Manages workflow within the department/ function; entails managing volumes and ensuring work is handled efficiently, acts as SME, handles escalations prior to going to manager, may resolve complex or escalated transactions

  • Authorize/approve applicable transactions and work-flows

  • Assist with researching and resolving open balances connected to the process including coordinating with our relevant desks and counterparties on liabilities or issues

  • Manage any email correspondence related to the process, ensure timely responses and proper resolution of open queries

  • Collate Manager Control Assessment Sampling

  • Responsible for training staff across multiple internal/external systems, markets, products, and processing regions

  • Manages procedural manuals and updates as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in Tier 1 global financial institutions.

  • Possess an expert knowledge of Voluntary Corporate Actions across Equity and Fixed Income products, Domestic and International, including the trade and corporate action lifecycles

  • Understanding of Stock Record; long/shorts, and various position types including stock lending positions; understanding of Swift MT564/568/566

  • Advanced experience level with Excel, Outlook, and experience with web based applications required

  • Proven record of accuracy and effective time management and prioritization skills with the ability to work in multiple systems and handle high email and event volumes

  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment, with conflicting demands and under tight deadlines

  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive

  • Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise.
