The Clinical Training Specialist is under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Department and is responsible for providing clinical and non-clinical new hire training programs regarding management of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) relative to navigation, regulatory documentation requirements and timeframes, clinical care, and clinical concept trainings that support new hire onboarding. Trainings may be provided onsite, virtually, or a combination of the two. In addition to training, the Specialist is responsible for training preparation, verbal and written feedback, and the development of training reports for all new-hires. The Specialist also consults and coordinates with all stakeholders relative to the new hire’s progress and development plans post-training.

Concurrently with existing EHR trainings, the Specialist will participate in department and training team collaborations to validate, plan and implement Horizon’s new EHR system. This includes the potential for testing new system workflows relative to their impact on training. The Specialist will play a major role in development of new training content and materials, a revised training curriculum, and input into a training plan for new hires as well as existing staff members in preparation for implementation. Within this role you will:

  • Incorporate principles of adult learning in the design and delivery of effective training

  • New-hire training of designated clinical staff and non-clinical staff in the agency EHR and introduction to key clinical concepts, practices and processes

  • Completion of New Hire Training Reports

  • Create and provide specialized trainings to identified “super users”, practice managers, nurses, and other role-specific training as required

  • Contributes to the development of a detailed EHR training plan including policies and procedures

  • Contributes to the planning and coordination of training resources

  • Responsible for incorporating changes in clinical agency policy and procedures into the new-hire training, and the re-training of existing clinical staff resulting from EHR promotions and other improvements

  • Responsible for the measurement of clinician satisfaction/ recommendations for improvement of the new-hire training process

  • Responsible for maintaining and revising all New Hire training materials and content

  • Be a participant in testing new internal workflows in the new EHR system

  • Contribute to the development of a training and implementation plan for the new EHR

  • Work collaboratively to create and update new EHR training materials (checklists, flowcharts, screen shots, training videos)

  • Participate in committees relative to training content and/or areas of interest in clinic operations or clinical content

  • Performs other related duties and activities as required

What has prepared me for this opportunity?

  • Master’s Degree required

  • Minimum of three years of behavioral health experience preferred

  • Training background preferred

  • QHP preferred (LMSW, LMHC or CASAC)

Must have the ability to:

  • Work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Horizon 2021 Recruitment Bonus Program

Eligible Hires and Payment Structure:

  • Full Time hires will receive $300 after 30 days of continuously working and another $300 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $600.

  • Part Time hires will receive $150 after 30 days of continuously working and another $150 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $300.

  • Bonus will be paid according to the employee’s PT or FT status as of Dec. 31st
