The Finance Acctg Sr. Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the record-to-report process for Corporate Treasury's over $300 billion investment portfolio. The main functions that this person will cover are daily P&L reporting, E-recon responsibilities, price/valuation verification and impairment analysis, regulatory reporting. The role also calls for frequent ad hoc analysis of activity.
Prepare accounting and reporting for a broad range of fixed-income securities, repos and foreign currency denominated securities.
E-recon process
Analyze trade information to ensure proper reporting of portfolio P&L and balance sheet
Accurately review and categorize product information for purposes of regulatory reporting
Impairment analysis activities
Daily profit attribution analysis (PAA) as required for Volcker regulatory rule compliance –
Accounting and reporting for a broad range of securities, repo and foreign-denominated securities
Accounting bookings and ensure suitability.
Models behavior that demonstrates integrity, prioritizes strong risk management values, and advocates decisions that foster a strong compliance risk management framework and accountability for decisions and actions.
Contribute to a 'no surprises' compliance culture by managing control issues with transparency and candor. Escalate in a timely fashion, communicate clearly, engage others and resolve issues or follow them through to resolution.
Qualifications:
Solid accounting knowledge and related work experience.
Strong risk and control experience
Knowledge of fixed-income securities, including U.S. Government bonds and mortgage-backed securities.
Extensive experience in Product Control, product processors (GTPL a plus) and Valuation
Attention to detail and willingness to "roll-up sleeves," while maintaining a grasp of the "big picture."
Advanced desktop skills, including MS-Office, and high aptitude for learning new systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and ability to draw up action plans.
Excellent desktop skills, including, MS-Office (especially Excel), and high aptitude for learning new systems.
Familiarity with Bloomberg or other market data services
5-8 years of experience in accounting management with commensurate stakeholder management experience
