Citigroup Governance and Control Senior Analyst - AVP in Getzville, New York

The Wholesale Credit Risk Monitoring (WCR Monitoring) team’s Governance and Control Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow for the area or function. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams.

This Senior Analyst role will be a main contributor to the Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) framework for WCR Monitoring. Will ensure that there is a proper governance and control framework in place, enhancement of controls, and oversight of the quarterly submission. Additionally, this role will assist in monitoring of the team’s EUCs as well as assist in IA and regulatory remediation efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate controls exist and are formalized for specific policies and processes.

  • Develop an effective Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) framework for the WCR Monitoring team.

  • Develop a granular understanding of the drivers behind control issues and facilitate standardization of Activity, Risks, Controls and Monitoring Tools within the team.

  • Assist with the continuous review, monitoring, and improvement of control processes. Streamline control design and ensure consistency across regional teams.

  • Partner with the Risk Controls & Issues Management (RCIM) team to coordinate and formalize new/enhanced controls in the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) system.

  • Partner with team managers to identify, register, monitor, and retire EUCs for the WCR Monitoring team.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Assist in coordinating Corrective Action Plan (CAP) remediation efforts.

  • Promptly escalate to Senior Management any issues or concerns identified.

  • Establish strong working relationship with other team members globally.

  • Utilize Citi Control systems, including, but not limited to Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Integrated Corrective Action Plan System (iCAPS), and EUC Portal.

  • Support ad hoc projects and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 4 - 6 years relevant experience

  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work within tight and changeable timeframes while still maintaining high level of accuracy

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details

  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Control, Compliance, Audit and/or Operational Risk experience is a plus

  • Familiarity with Citi’s Control systems, in particular GRC and EUC Portal
