Senior Citizens Service Center of Gloversville & Fulton County Programs Director in Gloversville, New York
NY1454476 Part time Program(s) Director needed with the Senior Citizen Center of Gloversville and Fulton County, Inc.
Hours will vary as needed though typically will work no more than 20 hours per week, four hours per day, five days per week; Monday thru Friday.
Duties: -Seek out sources and opportunities for fundraiser activities that can product income for the Center -Facilitate seasonal activities such as flower sales, chicken BBQ, steak bake, Junk in the Trunk, and other activities that can involve members and draw the general public as supporters (customers) -Search for and apply for grants to secure products, services and other support for the Center -All such activities should be3 brought before the Board of Directors for review and approval -Planning for these activities should be at least 45 days in advance -Will interact daily (if possible) with the Board President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer regarding any issues that may come up -Will openly discuss any issues regarding pertinent operations with other employees and volunteers -Maintain records and notes of all contacts and plans for activities, particularly contact persons involved with any center activity or program -Create a file folder for each contact or activity. The outreach / activity contacts should be kept separate in the top file drawer -Will work closely with the volunteer staff Monday thru Friday 9 am thru 1 pm with rentals, program bookings, membership renewals and new members. The Center has a very active and supportive Board of Directors
Onsite Activities: -Monitor inhouse programs -Plan and schedule such programs as Bingo, Cell Phone classes, Computer classes, Yoga and Karate classes, etc. -Interact with any committee that sets direction for the programs, possibly replacing some of the committee duties -Establish a rapport with volunteer leaders for various classes
Qualifications: -Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Office programs along with various email and search programs -Must be able to keep email and communications in specific folders in their appropriate programs -Prior nonprofit experience preferred
Monday thru Friday; 9 AM - 1 PM; 20 hours per week
Wage: $15 - negotiable based on experience
