LEGOLAND New York Resort Retail Buying Manager in Goshen, New York
The retail buying manager is responsible for the planning and purchasing of a high quality range of Retail products for LEGOLAND New York Resort, in order to achieve and/or exceed retail gross revenue, profit, and revenue per cap goals. Develops, sources, and manages the delivery of retail product range plans for up to ten retail shops. works within budget on product cost, and influences stock holdings. Controls and manages the purchase, intake and distribution of merchandise. Responsible for the management of the Open to Buy budgets for the resort.
Maintains a unique, high quality souvenir merchandise range plan portfolio that reflects LEGO and LEGOLAND brand values and standards.
Monitors and tracks open to buy budgets for LEGOLAND New York Resort.
Manages visual merchandising, covering space allocation, new product launches, seasonal campaigns and in store events for LEGOLAND New York Resort.
Serves as an active member of the retail management team.
Exhibits both the ability to work as a team member as well as the ability to work independently and execute projects within job scope.
Trains and develops team members in product knowledge, visual merchandising and systems training.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in buying and merchandising within a quality branded product environment.
Experience within multifaceted product categories and negotiation with wide supplier base is preferred.
Requires competence in managing product quality and safety compliance as well as supplier quality and COC assurance.
Strong negotiating skills are necessary to critically evaluate merchandising and purchasing decisions, including cost, quantity and quality, and to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
Knowledge of financial budgets, including Open-to-Buy is preferred. Effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required.
Requires the ability to adopt a strategic approach to management and plan effectively, identify and organize clear goals and targets, and present information clearly and concisely.
Must be able to cope with multiple tasks, and work within timeframes which necessitate working under pressure. Requires a commitment to excellence in guest service, and interpersonal and supervisory skills are required
