Filament Hospitality Lifeguard / Pool Attendant - Sound View Greenport in Greenport, New York

The Sound View is looking for a fun, hardworking lifeguard to join our team this summer! This Seasonal position is May to September?and has flexible, full-time or part-time schedule opportunity.

Our beautiful property features 55 waterfront rooms, an innovative new restaurant and catering operation, meeting and wellness facilities, a private beach and outdoor pool area, and a wealth of nearby experiences offered by community partners which include wineries, farms, the picturesque town of Greenport, and many activities (cycling, fishing, boating, golf, yoga, etc). Pay range: $14-$15 per hour depending on experience Bonus give at the end of the seasson!

Essential Experience/Aptitude

  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.

  • CPR/AED Certification for professional rescuers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Open, close, and monitor the hotel pool during designated operating hours.

  • Enforce pool rules with consistency and tact.

  • Remain alert and available to identify and address any potential guest safety risks

  • Act as first responder to guests in need of first aid or other medical support.

  • Monitor and log findings regarding pool chemical levels, completing all appropriate records required by the Department of Health.

  • Tend the pool environment, keeping the area clean, clear and presentable.

  • Assist property guests in the event of dangerous pool conditions.

  • Assist guests with any other needs, directing to other property staff as needed.

  • To follow all company policies and procedures.

  • To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.

  • Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others.

  • To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.

  • To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

Essential Physical Abilities

  • Must be able to run, swim, paddle moderate distances and upon short notice

  • Pushes, pulls, bends, reaches and lifts to perform routine job tasks.

  • Must be able to physically respond and engage with guests at a fast pace, under pressure.

  • Walking surfaces around the swimming facility may be slippery.
