2 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs Available 06/19/2023- 10/20/2023.
Manually plant, cultivate & harvest fruits & vegetables including but not limited to sweetcorn, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, eggplant, peppers, melons, pumpkins & squash. Use hand tools, such as trowels. shovels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, knives & post drivers. Duties include field preparations by tilling soil, mulching, plastic application & removal, transplanting, weeding, thinning, and pruning of crops. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, & self-propelled machinery. Set up & operate irrigation equipment and participate with laying irrigation pipes and other activities. Repair & maintain, including cleaning & sanitizing, of farm vehicles, farm equipment, and mechanical equipment used in harvesting, sorting, packing, washing, & storage of produce. Construct trellises, repair fences & farm buildings. Rake lawns, shovel, sweep, and wash buildings. Harvest fruit and vegetables by hand and machine. All fruit & vegetables to be handled with care to avoid bruising. Assist with farm maintenance. Due to health & safety concerns on our farm, workers must understand basic instructions in English. While working in the field, all cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three months verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in this order.
- Lifting up to 75 lbs on a consistent basis throughout the work day.
- Extensive sitting, extensive pushing/pulling, and extensive walking.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Repetitive movements and frequent stooping/bending.
