Growmark, Inc Conditioning Plant Manager - Seedway, LLC - Hall, NY in Hall, New York

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Produces high quality seed in efficient, cost effective manner, in appropriate volumes to supply Seedway customers.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Supervise night shift employees through verbal and written instruction. Follow up to ensure assigned duties are completed. Train and supervise all mill personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Manage seed conditioning process for all lots to ensure quality standards meet customer expectations.

Supervise maintenance of plant. Ensure equipment is maintained and properly operated.

Oversee collection of quality samples as prescribed by AASCO and seed certification for submission.

Process all paperwork required by seed certification rules, Seedway inventory and accounts payable.

Oversee tagging and labeling process to ensure seed quality and compliance with regulations.

Assist Operations Manager in projecting capital needs as requested to improve quality and efficiency.

In conjunction with Operations Manager, obtain seed treatment license.

Responsible for ensuring all personnel maintain current status on required safety training.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires an Associate's Degree in agricultural discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of agronomy operations related work experience or farming experience to demonstrate knowledge to effectively assist in the management of the assigned facilities and personnel.

Knowledge of seed conditioning requirements including small grains, and soybeans under New York state certification regulations.

Knowledge of seed conditioning equipment and maintenance or willingness to learn.
AASCO trained.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Normally requires an acceptable CDL, Class B license or willingness to acquire.

Ability to lift 70 pounds.

Ability to work hours beyond those considered "normal".

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
