Seedway* is headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has about 220 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers. The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed. Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT*
Manages all supply chain operations, including shipping, receiving, and logistics. Assists Business Managers to maximize manufacturing efficiency, minimize costs, and drive product quality. Oversees employees to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of supplies, raw materials, and finished goods. Will work in conjunction with purchasing managers from each division to optimize efficiency in product acquisition.
- SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP*
Supervises, leads and develops location logistics personnel.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION*
Is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the overall supply chain strategy in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Builds and maintains good relationships with vendors, customers and internal SEEDWAY staff.
Collaborates with other departments to identify vulnerabilities and close operational gaps and suggests solutions for process improvements.
Negotiates Corporate transportation contracts with providers to obtain best rates and service, in and out bound for Truckload, Less Than Truckload (LTL) and Small Parcel shipments.
Determines key supply chain KPIs (Key Performance Indicator)

Manages, trains and evaluates key logistics personnel at each location.
Focuses on safety, cost management and business growth in all interactions and directives
Works with finance, sales, and manufacturing team to determine best vendors and distributors.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field, and 3-5 years or more of related work experience.
Must be a critical thinker with problem solving skills as well as a good team player and leader.
Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software.
Be willing and able to work extended hours if needed.
Have the ability to travel independently and stay overnight.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn company’s operating system.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
