Helpers - Roofers - 15 fulltime, temporary, seasonal (H-2B) jobs available 4/1/22-10/31/22. Employer: Maple Guy Construction, Inc., 504 Pleasant Ave., Hamburg, NY 14075. Duties: Hoist roofing materials to roofs; carry materials up ladders; remove old roof material; maintain and clean tools and equipment; assist skilled roofers in replacing and installing roofs, flashings and surfaces. Must lift/carry 80 pounds, when necessary. Employees may be asked to operate a company vehicle (driving is not a requirement of all workers). Employer to provide transportation to and from work sites from central location: 6649 Boston State Rd., Hamburg, NY 14075. Use of the transportation is voluntary. Employer provides incidental transport between job sites. No education required, 3 months experience required. Work hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm, 40 hours/week at $16.20/hour. OT available at $24.30/hr. Raises/bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Saturday work is required when necessary. Employer may offer more than the stated hours, depending on weather, business needs and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain or drought may affect working hours. A single workweek will be used to compute wages. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include: Employer will deduct for the reasonable fair market value cost of rent and utilities based on number of occupants (not to exceed $73.85/week) for workers who elect to live in employer-offered housing. Employer guarantees to offer hours equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total contract period. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $13.17/day without receipts or up to $55/day with receipts. Transportation reimbursement based on worker's actual cost, not to exceed the most economical common carrier transportation costs for the distances involved. Workers who voluntarily abandon employment are not entitled to payment for outbound travel costs or the full 3/4 period guarantee described above.
