Responsible for execution of specific strategic activities and outcomes within assigned sport or area. These will include sustained performance and execution in the following areas:
- Adherence to Director of Strength and Conditioning's philosophy as it relates to program design, training philosophy, and motivation techniques.
- Independent discretion and judgement in creating strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports programs within the framework of the philosophy of the Director of Strength & Conditioning.
- Instructing student-athletes in the proper and safe techniques of weight training, plyometrics, speed development drills, conditioning exercises and agility movements that are current and scientifically valid.
- Effective communication with a diverse population of student-athletes
- Student-athlete welfare
- Counseling and education of student-athletes in the area of performance enhancement
* Responsible for personal growth and educational development to maintain an advanced knowledge and expertise in sport performance instruction and coaching.
Assists with the overall development of the strength and conditioning program, execution and instruction as it pertains to student-athlete sport performance and physical well-being. To include:
- Program development based on sport specificity, seasonality, and competitive strategy
- Progressive instruction and acclimation
- Provide guidelines for sports nutrition education and counseling
- Injury rehabilitation programming and instruction within the guidelines of the sports medicine staff recommendations.
* Independent decision-making regarding all student-athlete participation in strength and conditioning activities. Accountable for student-athlete welfare while coaching.
* Ensures all student-athlete injuries are properly reported to appropriate medical staff. All student-athlete injures reported to the strength and conditioning staff should be addressed appropriately in that student's strength and conditioning program.
* Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and protocols ensuring a safe and effective working environment in the varsity weight room through inspection of all equipment, appropriately setting up the facility and monitoring each team's training sessions, by self or and appointed designee.
Accountable for maintaining personal compliance with all relevant governing bodies to include:
- specific conference
- athletic department
- university policies
* Assist with the effective management, hiring, training and evaluating all student staff and interns.
* Responsible for role modeling behaviors and leadership for student-athletes.

Professional Experience/ Qualifications
1-2 years of full-time experience as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach outside of any graduate assistant/ intern positions.
Requires an excellent work ethic and ability to be highly organized.
Requires computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and Google Suites.
Ability to work with a highly diverse population. Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years experience as a collegiate strength & conditioning coach.
Previous work with a variety of sports will be given special consideration. Education
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field.
Master's degree preferred. Certifications
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or Strength and Conditional Coach Certified (SCCC) certification through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) is required.
A current valid driver's license, in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy is required. Physical Requirements Other Information
