CURTIS LUMBER IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!

Our Hamilton location is currently looking to immediately fill a Customer Service/Sales position. Curtis Lumber continues to go with over 600 employees and 23 locations, in both New York and Vermont.

To engage in face to face, phone and electronic sales by utilizing exceptional customer service and sales skills in order to meet or exceed sales and margin goals.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Customer Service

  • Acknowledge, greet and assist customers in a timely and professional manner

  • Handle telephone and electronic inquiries efficiently and effectively

  • Identify the needs and provide the appropriate level of assistance to the customer

  • Effectively research and resolve customer complaints and conflicts

    Sales Expectations

  • Understand the marketplace

  • Know product features

  • Work to meet prospect customers’ needs

  • Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add on sales

  • Effective closing technique

  • Quote follow up - quote to order conversion

  • Share expertise with others

    Sales and Margin

  • Meet and or exceed individual sales goals

  • Meet and or exceed individual margin goals

  • Inside work with tasks completed on the computer and by phone

    Hours

Will vary depending on season and circumstances. Involves overtime, weekends and longer work weeks at certain times of the year

  • Ability to speak and read the English language

  • Talk and hear sufficient for interpersonal communication

  • Continual lifting and moving of products and materials

  • Lift and or move up to 50lbs. individually, on occasions may encounter greater weight lifting requirements

  • Lift and or move up to 100lbs. with the help of another person

  • Required to stand and walk up to 4 hours at a time

  • Manual dexterity of hands to fingers in order to do such tasks as using the cash register and computer

  • Full range of motion with arms to shoulders in order to do such tasks as moving products to and from the shelves

  • On a daily bases you may be required to climb stairs or ladders in order to do such tasks as moving products to and from the shelves

  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch in order to do such tasks as look for and or move products to and from the shelves

Vision demands- close, color, and ability to adjust focus
