Position Purpose and Objectives:Under the direction of the V.P. Sheetfed & Prepress, the Sheetfed Pressman - 2nd shift is responsible for operating the press, changing inks, and loading material, effectively and with good quality.This position requires individuals to be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be able to work under stressful conditions. Sitting, standing, pushing and/or/pulling, lifting, and carrying (up to 30 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, and kneeling may be required. Reasonable accommodations. The work environment is usually noisy and may be performed while exposed to chemicals and odors commonly associated with printing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Must be available to work a flexible schedule, which includes days, nights, overnights, and weekendsOversee the overall printing process including the timely completion of ordersExamine work orders to determine quantity to be printed, stock specifications, colors, and special printing instructionsManage all aspects of the presses mechanical and computer systems including data entry, as well as storage and retrieval of jobsApply packing sheet to blanket cylinder to build up blanket thickness to diameter of plate cylinderMeasure paper thickness and adjusts space between blanket and impression cylinders according to thickness of paper stockAdjust controls to regulate flow of ink and dampening solution to plate cylinderStart press, examine printed copy for ink density, position on paper and registration and adjusts press throughout production run to maintain specific registration and color densityEvaluate print production quality and make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments; bring any concerns to the attention of the V.P. of Sheetfed & PrepressTroubleshoot production issues that may ariseMaintain and keep press in top operational condition, i.e., clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, including making minor repairsLead, direct, train, and monitor the Sheetfed Pressman and ensure safety protocols including cleanliness of area and equipment are adhered toOther duties as assignedApplicant chosen may be eligible for benefits package and other incentives.

Minimum Salary: 30.00 Maximum Salary: 35.50 Salary Unit: Hourly
