Sterling North America, Inc Seasonal Stitcher Operator - 2nd Shift in Hauppauge, New York
Under the direction of the Bindery Manager, The Stitcher Operator - 2nd Shift is responsible for loading, operating, maintaining, and repairing bindery machines for saddle stitching, perfect binding, spiral binding, strip binding, or wire binding of documents, reports, booklets, and books.Perform, complete, troubleshoot, and maintain binding stitcher machineBind sheets of paper or signatures into complete saddle stitched and trimmed booklets by operating an automated bindery finishing machineLoads pockets in proper order, makes necessary adjustments to stitcher, trimmer, and punch. Inspects finished work during production and makes modifications as neededReads and understands the job ticket, layout sheet, artwork, and other specifications before beginning the assigned job orderReports to Bindery Manager on any concerns to ensure that both the technical and workflow issues are addressedAble to troubleshoot and problem solveResponsible for training and directing any bindery workers/helpers in executing tasks when they are assisting on the stitcherOperates other bindery equipment when necessary to maintain the flexibility of the departmentAdheres to and promotes all company safety policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned by Bindery ManagerWe offer a generous benefit package which includes paid-time off, medical, dental, 100% company subsidized vision, 401K with a company match and other incentives.
