Job Summary
Regularly works within and monitors work flow of Quality Inventory Control activities: acts as a problem solver, resource and trainer within the department. Organizes and oversees the collection and analysis of pertinent data. Provides input to management to support the development and application of the effective business processes and accuracy in all Quality Inventory Control practices. Acts as a backup in the absence of the department Supervisor

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • In cooperation with management, defines key performance indicators (KPI) for the Quality Inventory Control department (including but not exclusive to cycle counting, problem resolution, inventory re-profiling, reshop, return to stock goods as well as inventory adjustments and inventory health activities) .
  • Collects and analyzes data pertinent to efficiency within the Quality Inventory Control department as it applies to established key performance indicators specifically and business processes in general.
  • Under the direction of management, creates / distributes detailed Quality Inventory Control reports and maintains effective record keeping regarding the daily, monthly and YTD production/efficiency in assigned areas of Quality Inventory Control activity.
  • Monitors efficiency in all areas of Quality Inventory Control functionality to assure timely completion and efficiency in all Quality Inventory Control activities.
  • As supported by collected data, reports to management, the existence of poor/inefficient business practices.
  • Through the analysis of collected data, offers Quality Inventory Control management viable solutions to processes proven ineffective.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of all Quality Inventory Control processes.
  • Works directly with department trainer and leadership team members to actively support the Quality Inventory Control training program and departmental objectives.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities in the Quality Inventory Control department as directed by the management team.
  • Seeks assistance from Supervisor/Manager in identifying and reporting problems or concerns relating to job function, safety and quality, performance, and attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required to include but not limited to participating in employee disciplinary process, performance evaluation process, and attendance tracking.
  • Must work extended hours to complete daily priorities as necessary.
  • Encourages all employees to submit continuous improvement ideas.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication within the Quality Inventory Control department with regard to changes in process and performance.
  • Prioritizes and directs the activity of 6 or more employees daily.
  • Participates in minor conflict resolution, documentation and report back to management.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a cooperative atmosphere throughout the department and the facility.
  • Presents in team meetings on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Reports to management regularly regarding the progress of projects, KPI's and daily activity within the department.

  • Works scheduled holidays in order to maintain service levels for customers
  • As business needs dictates, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory Saturdays.
  • Works scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times, notifies Supervisor prior to absence or tardiness in accordance with company policy.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills verbal, written, and comprehension of the English language.
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • PC Skills
  • Forklift/ man-up experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Intermediate computer skills required. Ability to utilize, develop and interpret detailed Excel spreadsheets. Minimum of 2 years experience in an inventory environment or equivalent experience required. Minimum of 2 years in a position of group leadership required. Minimum of 2 years working in an RF and or computer based inventory system required. RF experience a plus. Warehouse Management System experience a plus.

Education:

  • High school Diploma or GED Required. Associates degree preferred (i.e. Business Administration, Business Management). Must have Excel training or display acceptable proficiency
  • Intermediate course work in mathematics, data processing and business or equivalent

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $20 and $23 per hour and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
