The Salvation Army of the Syracuse Area Hudson Outpost Center Director in Hudson, New York
SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:The Director is under the supervision of the Albany Corps, and will carry out duties as assigned. He/She will work directly with the Advisory Board to maintain, enhance or expand existing programs offered to the community and work closely with the Albany Salvation Army Officers to develop and support the spiritual ministry and outreach.The Director will coordinate all fund raising and public relations activities locally to benefit The Salvation Army Hudson Outpost Center.

OVERSIGHT OF FEEDING, EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY, MASS FOOD DISTRIBUTION AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE• Inventory and ordering of food from Regional Food Bank.• Management of In-Kind donations and delivery/pickup of food inventory.• Documentation and reports of the programs to the Regional Food Bank and The Salvation Army.• Coordination of meal and menu planning by kitchen team.• Coordinate and review kitchen standards based on NYS state regulations and Food Bank Guide• Management of kitchen and support team as necessary.• Accurate record keeping of both donor information and client applications.
Management of the Out Post• Interagency collaborations: Regional Food Bank, Department of Social Services, Court System, PathStone,R.S.V.P Program and others as they are developed.• Maintain Salvation Army reports: Statistics, Income & Expense, Donations and United Way contracts.• Schedule and attend monthly Advisory Board Meetings.• Management of personnel and volunteers.• Fundraising: Annual Red Kettle fundraising and special fundraisers.• Collaborate with Albany Salvation Army and Divisional Headquarters: Public Relations, Donor Cultivation, Summer Camp and newopportunities.• Facilities Management: Clean and safe operations.• Research, coordinate proposals, and complete follow up reports

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or certificate.
• Three to five years of related experience. E.g. Social Worker, Case Worker, Program Manager, Coordinator• Ability to embrace The Salvation Army Social Services and Spiritual Ministries and Mission.• Understanding and passion of individuals and families experiencing concentrated poverty and homelessness.• A background in human services, and/or Christian Ministry preferred.• A background or proven ability to develop and monitor budgets.• A proven ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision• A proven ability to manage and lead others in accomplishing established objectives.• Able to produce well-constructed and clearly written communications and reports• A current valid driver's license.• Strong Leadership and good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills.• Ability to lift up and move up to 501bs.• Ability to use office software not limited to but including, Service Point Client Data System, Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets and email and inter-office electronic mailing systems.• Serv Safe Certification.• Experience in fundraising and grant writing.
