AHRC Nassau Office Coordinator in Hunter, New York
The Office Coordinator works in the Health Center at camp during the summer camp sessions. The responsibilities include completing tasks delegated by the Unit Nurse and or Camp Nurse Manager/Assist Nurse Manager, answering phones, clerical tasks/documentation and helping to keep the Health Center clean, organized and safe.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Creates camper charts for their assigned unit/nurse; organizes paperwork that is submitted regarding each camper
In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, review of CampDocs health information on a daily ongoing basis to ensure new information is communicated to nursing staff.
Ensure charts have applications and medical packets for upcoming sessions
Ensure parent questionnaire with campers photos are printed and each nurse has those in their assigned units
Update Urgent Care and Emergency Room visits with reason for sending and returning diagnosis into a log book; gathers and completes paperwork for ER and or urgent care visits for campers and counselors.
Transports campers/counselors to urgent care/hospitals; travels to pharmacies as requested
Check emails and telephone messages at least 3 times a day and ensure messages are received for nurses and or those they are intended
Ensures campers visiting the Health Center are signed in and identifies the reason for the visit.
Creates camper ID bands and prints and laminates photos for identification purposes during camper’s medication administration
Files departing camper’s medical paperwork; including camper body check forms
Clean and disinfect rooms; including remaking beds and changing linens
Ensures Health Center is clean and organized; this includes sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning kitchen, and overall general tidiness and cleaning
Ensures meals are administered to those campers/counselors who are staying in the Health Center during meal times
Submit maintenance requests
Maintain a log of rooms the nurses are occupying on camp
Check Local AEDs and refrigerator temperatures daily
Sign in packages to Health Center and retrieves mail from the office
Restock and organize OTC medication stock on Tuesdays and Saturdays; recording and checking expiration dates
Organize accident reports daily for Camp Quality Assurance person to pick u
Make arrangements at local Doctor’s office if camper or counselor’s condition requires an office visit
Make arrangements for pharmacy pick up if a camper or counselor requires medication
Ensure water and toilets are functioning properly daily as per DOH regulations; document same.
Follows DOH and ACA regulations; agency policies and procedures the employee handbook, and agency and program training requirements
Reports to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect. Additionally, must follow all agency incident policy and procedures
Reports and documents any events/activities that may hinder the health, safety and well-being of the people that attend camp (i.e., allegations of abuse, injuries, broken equipment, etc.).
Arrives to work by the start of scheduled shift and adheres to agency policy and procedure concerning call offs.

High School or General Equivalency Diploma
18 years of age
