Reliance Heating and Cooling Service Manager / Dispatcher in Islandia, New York

One of the most rapidly growing mechanical services organizations on Long Island is seeking a seasoned Service Manager / Dispatcher with 3 years minimum experience in HVACR commercial service. Our ideal candidate will be well versed in HVACR, dispatching, and overall service management. Must be a self-starter, independent, and a forward thinker with excellent communication and people skills. He/she must be goal and schedule oriented, safety conscious and extremely organized. This person needs to excel in dispute resolution and be a multi-tasking, problem solver. He/she must be capable of managing office staff and convey comfort and authority around personnel.

Job Description

The Service Manager is responsible for managing, and performing all necessary tasks to ensure successful day-to-day operations of flourishing HVACR company

Key responsibilities include:

  • Running day-to-day operations of Service Department

  • Writing proposals, scheduling technicians, placing and following up on equipment orders

  • Estimating costs, developing budgets

  • Assessing risks and avoiding them for oneself and team

  • Building comprehensive material lists and ensuring procurement

  • Supervising and being accountable for the craftsmanship and productivity of technicians

  • Setting goals for self and team and holding all accountable

  • Weekend availability a must


  • Preferred 5-10 years experience in HVACR industry.

  • Ability to treat sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Proven management success.

  • Proficiency with industry software including dispatching / billing programs.

  • Professional, ethical, and a team player willing to grow with the company.
