Ithaca College ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY in Ithaca, New York

The Ithaca College School of Health Sciences & Human Performance invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology position to begin August 16, 2024. This is a 9.5 month position, with the option for summer teaching. The successful candidate will teach assigned classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with expertise in a wide variety of areas related to clinical practice in speech-language pathology are encouraged to apply. Desirable areas include but are not limited to: speech sound disorders; child language; culturally responsive practice; or stuttering. Some clinical teaching and supervision of graduate student clinical practicum would also be expected. Establishing a research program in the applicant’s area of expertise required. Interest and/or experience in online education desirable. In addition, the successful candidate would participate in departmental, school, and college service, and advise students. Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in communication sciences and disorders or closely related field and CCC-SLP by time of hire are required; ABD considered. A scholarly record or strong potential for establishing one is preferred. We prefer candidates who have a record of successful college teaching and who share our commitment to professional preparation within the context of an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education.

About the department:

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology at Ithaca College recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. The master’s degree in speech-language pathology is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Ithaca College is consistently ranked among the best in the Northeast, and is noted for hands-on preprofessional education, offering both liberal arts and professional degrees. The School of Health Sciences and Human Performance offers graduate degrees in a range of health-related fields, including occupational and physical therapy, physician assistant, and athletic training.

Hiring Range: $60,100 - $88,473, dependent on discipline, qualifications and experience.
