The Opportunity


Cornell Law School is seeking a proactive and skilled Event and Administrative Coordinator to join our team. This role provides a unique opportunity to support and enhance the law school's vibrant community through comprehensive event coordination and robust administrative support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination- Plan and execute a wide array of events, ranging from moot court competitions to major career days and fundraisers. You will manage both virtual and in-person events, serving as the primary contact for high-profile guests and ensuring all logistical details are impeccably handled.
  • Administrative Support- Offer extensive administrative assistance, including managing correspondence, processing travel reimbursements, and maintaining crucial databases. Your role will be pivotal in supporting the Clerkship Director and maintaining efficient office operations.
  • CLE Assistance- Facilitate the awarding of CLE credits, manage compliance with CLE standards, and prepare necessary reports and documentation for workshops and seminars.
  • Website Maintenance- Regularly update and manage the content of the law school's website, ensuring compliance with ADA regulations and maintaining relevance and accuracy.
  • Accounts and Budgeting Support- Monitor and report on budgetary allocations and expenditures, assist in managing financial transactions, and liaise with finance offices to uphold fiscal integrity.

What We Need

  • Associates Degree and 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, handling multiple tasks with differing deadlines, and to prioritize work on projects happening simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with organizational, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong service orientation, commitment to collaboration and innovation, and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to handle high volumes of work during peak periods and resolve problems using sound judgment.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, presentation, and electronic communications.

  • Proficiency in event coordination.
  • Experience with Asana, WordPress, and procurement and accounting.

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role remotely 2 days per week and on-campus 3 days per week. During the winter and summer, when classes are not in session, there may be opportunities for more remote work offered. There are events and activities that require on-site presence on a Saturday three times per academic year. The university reserves the right to modify, suspend, revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
