When you join PPGNY as a Director of Clinical Services, you will have direct oversight of the sexual and reproductive health services provided in your health center(s) and oversee the Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) who provide the care. You will be responsible for training and onboarding new clinicians, responding to your staff’s clinical consultations, and evaluating their performance. You will collaborate with other members of the health center management team to develop and implement site specific goals and systems to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality patient care. You will participate in affiliate-wide cross-departmental work groups to design and implement new clinical initiatives to expand PPGNY’s services and enhance quality, safety, equity and access to care throughout PPGNY. You will also provide clinical care in your health center(s).

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead by example in the health center and work to create a positive culture within the team

  • Implement systems for monitoring and improving clinical processes to meet defined health center productivity goals

  • Work collaboratively with health center staff to provide team-centered patient care

  • Work closely with the PPGNY Medical Leadership Team to implement new and updated protocols, policies and procedures throughout the organization

  • Train, onboard, and oversee nurses depending on your health centers

  • Create and oversee performance improvement plans for your staff

  • Maintain a demonstrated commitment to learning about and enhancing practices related to racial equity and its impact on healthcare systems; possess the ability to demonstrate respect, relate to, and care for diverse populations and communities

  • Maintain a demonstrated commitment to PPGNY’s mission related to bodily autonomy, health equity, and gender and racial justice

  • Possess strong relationship building and communication skills, including an ability to work and build trust across cultural differences related to race, class, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or ability, and an ability to reflect on one’s personal identity with humility

You have:

  • Graduate of an accredited Bachelor/Master’s program from a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery, or Midwifery Program

  • Certification from an approved professional body

  • 2 years of professional experience in and broad knowledge of sexual and reproductive health care including abortion care. Experience within a family planning clinical setting preferred.

  • Current NYS license as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Nurse Midwife, or Midwife

  • Current CPR certification required

  • Extensive travel required, >25%, to all assigned health care centers in which you supervise APCs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related health field

  • Minimum of two (2) years of direct supervisory or leadership experience


  • $139,000-$152,000

All positions at PPGNY require:

Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
