The Opportunity

The Faculty and Academic Administrative Support will provide high-level administrative support to Brooks School faculty and academic staff, ensuring that their teaching, research, and extension activities are effectively facilitated. This position will involve a wide range of tasks, including procurement, travel coordination, and problem-solving, all while adhering to university and Brooks School policies and guidelines. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the administrative team to deliver high-quality support across various Brooks School programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for faculty members, assisting them with teaching, research, and extension activities.
  • Manage the non-searched academic appointment process, including Executive and Masters Programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies.
  • Coordinate and administer Brooks School Working Groups, overseeing all logistics and programming with attention to detail and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant to Sr. Associate Deans to facilitate faculty searches, including visit coordination, itinerary creation, and travel arrangements.

This is a full-time (39 hours/week) Contract College position that is based in Ithaca, NY. This position will be fully on-site during the 90-day probationary period, with potential to move to a 4:1 campus-to-home hybrid work arrangement during the academic year. During breaks and the summer, this position follows a 3:2 campus-to-home hybrid work arrangement. This hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. Typical work hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after a 90-day probationary period. Employees typically perform this role remotely 1 day per week and on-campus 4 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify, suspend, revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
  • Employees who work remotely may receive multiple W-2 Forms depending on their work location. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholding for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside of New York State.
