Ithaca College SUMMER MUSIC ACADEMY - INSTRUCTOR in Ithaca, New York

Summer Music Academy faculty will play an essential role in delivering a high-quality, pre-college music experience to enrolled students. Faculty will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses on a daily basis, including music fundamentals, master classes, private lessons, and coaching chamber ensembles. Faculty will serve as role models to intermediate and high school students as these students navigate their own professional and personal goals. Faculty are encouraged to actively perform during the program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Teach music fundamentals class (theory, sight-singing, and history), as assigned

  • Teach daily master classes in instrument/voice area(s), as assigned

  • Coach chamber ensembles, as assigned

  • Teach private lessons, as assigned

  • Teach music electives, as assigned

  • Perform as needed

  • Attend and supervise daily activities as needed

Compensation:

$300 to $1,000 per class per week depending on workload and assignment. Compensation will be determined with the Summer Music Academy Director.
