Jamestown City School District Food Service Helper in Jamestown, New York
FT/PT, Jamestown: Food Service Helper FOOD SERVICE HELPER DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine manual work performed under direct supervision involving the preparation and serving of food in a cafeteria or other eating place and the cleaning of kitchen equipment. Does related work as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Helps to prepare vegetables and meats; Makes sandwiches, desserts and salads; Sets tables; Serves food from steam tables in cafeteria-type dining hall; Clears table of dirty dishes; Fills sugar bowls and salt and pepper shakers; Washes and dries dishes; Cleans tables, chairs, serving tables and other equipment; Acts as cashier. FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES SKILLS ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Working knowledge of the proper method of serving foods and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances; working knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances; ability to follow simple oral and written directions; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Must have a positive attitude and ability to get along with other of different races, creed religions and sexual orientations Must attend all school food service training.
