Job Title: Mill Operator TechnicianOverview: Suit-Kote Corporation is currently seeking Mill Operator Technicians for the production of various asphalt emulsion materials. Current openings are 1st and 2nd shift and will include in-house training to address the production methods and procedures needed to perform job tasks safely and efficiently.Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others. Responsibilities/Job Duties: • Perform specific duties in the production of various materials used in the road construction industry, which may include: asphalt emulsion, asphalt binder, aggregates, road paving mixtures, and other raw materials. • Sample gathering of elevated-temperature materials and corrosive products. • Operate forklifts and man lifts • Maintenance tasks and mechanical duties (pumps, gauges, valves, etc.) along with activities in elevated-heights. • Truck loading and unloadingRequired Skills/Abilities: • Reliable transportation to and from work site • Strong work ethic • Strong math skills • Physical Organization and time management • Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessaryPhysical Requirements: • Must be able to lift 50 pounds • Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements • Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present • Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting Other Preferred Qualities: • Ability to read and understand SDS • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted • Consent to a DMV license evaluation • Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety CertificatePosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
