The selected candidate will:
Oversees the work of DevOps engineering teams, in excess of 75 globally dispersed engineers, to deliver solution or infrastructure development services for the most complex or multiple projects, being accountable for the quality of development outputs and consistently strives to go above and beyond. Takes accountability for the design, development, delivery and maintenance of a suite of solutions, software engineering practices, including cloud services, and drives the development of relevant standards. Works with other departments to establish a design, technology, product development and vendor strategy. Looking for a leader who consistently thinks about new creative modern approaches, anticipates what’s next and is empowered to make appropriate decisions. The Lead will navigate complex politics, ensure highly demanding customers have their demands met, all while ensuring overall innovation and development of team are accomplished.
Your key responsibilities
Ensure the team is able to engineer and automate platform solutions to meet and exceed expectations of Product Manager
Envision and direct DevOps transformation activities across the assigned team, product and service line, driving efficiencies through automation, shifting of security left and more.
Displays executive presence, confidence and credibility that enhances and inspires their team and clients.
Empower, grow, develop and inspire engineers and customers at all levels from junior to senior executives.
Secure and automate solutions through collaboration with InfoSec and Architecture resources
Proactively evolve and apply DevSecOps methodologies, standards and leading practices
Ensure re-use through consumption and expansion of shared platform technology assets
Apply modern development standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, security standards, usability design standards, as appropriate.
Provide direction, training and support for platform/product operations
Identify, communicate and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout full lifecycle
Using critical thinking, consider the art of the possible, compare various options based on feasibility and impact, propose measurable plans and roadmaps that balance tactical and strategic needs
Skills and attributes for success
Highly advanced technical proficiency in designing, developing, and debugging solutions
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, or related field preferred
More than 10 years in an engineering role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms.
More than 5 years leading large, complex engineering teams.
Demonstrate an ability to successfully navigate complex internal politics in a highly demanding and fast paced global environment.
2+ years CI/CD delivery using code management, configuration management and automation tools such as GitHub, VSTS, Ansible, DSC, Puppet, Ambari, Chef, Salt, Jenkins, Maven, etc.
Experience with any of the following: Azure, O365, Azure Stack, Azure AD
Multi-system Integration using industry standards such as REST, API, JSON, SOAP, etc
Extensive relevant industry experience required, demonstrating working knowledge of relevant software infrastructure platforms (depending on specialism) and understanding of applicable standards
Experience performing DevOps engineering on a platform or product
Experience with any claims based authentication (SAML/OAuth/OIDC), MFA, RBAC, or ABAC
Knowledge of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
Experience with resilient and highly available mission critical technology components
Experience with multi-geo, multi-tier service design and operations
Delivery using modern methodologies especially SAFe Agile, Iterative, Waterfall, etc
Communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to contribute as a leading member of global, distributed teams passionate about delivering quality services and solutions
Able to distil complex technical challenges to measurable and explainable decisions
Inspire DevSecOps teams by building consensus and mediating compromises when necessary
Demonstrate excellent engineering & automation skills in the context of cloud based global platform/product delivery using continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD)
Demonstrate ability to learn new and emerging technologies with ability to rapidly define engineering standards and produce automation code
Operational abilities including early life support and driving root cause analysis and remediation

AZ400 Certified Preferred
