Join our Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team and you will directly support and promote our brand and reputation. Through internal communications, public relations and corporate communications, you’ll provide a wide range of communications services to internal and external audiences. These include current and future clients, our current and future employees, alumni, regulators, the media and the communities within which we operate.
We’re looking for a dynamic professional to skillfully execute communications for our most senior leaders in a fast-paced, high-visibility setting on a best-in-class team. You’ll spearhead the development and implementation of a variety of internal and external communications that align with our EY culture and values, our Americas business objectives, and our Leadership Communications initiatives. Serving as a trusted communications advisor to leadership, you will team closely with BMC colleagues, internal stakeholders and agency partners to drive awareness and understanding of business priorities that impact our more than 80,000 Americas professionals.
Your key responsibilities
As a senior member of EY’s Americas Leadership Communications team, you will drive innovative communication strategies and approaches for our C-suite executives. This role requires a poised and confident professional who can cultivate strong trusted advisor relationships with senior stakeholders, leveraging best practices to convey complex ideas and drive consistent messaging. The successful candidate will be an execution-oriented team player with a sharp attention to detail and a commitment to developing high-quality deliverables and leading results.
Skills and attributes for success
Collaborate with the Americas Leadership Communications Leader to develop and execute strategic communication programs for senior leaders, including the US Chair and Managing Partner and Americas Managing Partner, and the Chief Financial Officer
Serve as a senior member of the Leadership Communications team, sharing knowledge, leading or co-leading initiatives and collaborating with BMC colleagues to execute best-in-class communication practices
Leverage experience and insight to build trusted communications advisor relationships with senior executives – presenting ideas, making recommendations, providing rationale, and consulting with leaders and their teams on communications
Skilled at technical writing, storytelling communications and effectively capturing voice, with the ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels to deliver outcomes that drive business objectives
Ensure a consistent and clear strategy and vision across all internal and external channels, including traditional, webcasts and live video broadcasts, video, social, digital, intranet and other new media tools and platforms
Proven ability to extract key objectives and simplify content into cohesive, clear and concise messaging for broad audiences
Apply critical thinking to anticipate and communicate the potential outcomes of decisions to stakeholders
Manage various aspects of internal event planning, including project management and execution, for both virtual and in-person events
Demonstrated experience in rapid-response and crisis communications
Capable of maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times when dealing with highly sensitive business matters or proprietary information
Manage, coach and inspire team members who may report to you formally or informally, and contribute to creating an inclusive environment and a sense of belonging for all
Proactively seek feedback from stakeholders and peers to grow and enhance your brand and skillset
Comfortable working with ambiguity, change and continuously evolving priorities, and open-minded to new or transformational ideas
To qualify for the role, you must have
Demonstrated communications, project management and organizational skills with 12+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree with a Communications or related major or equivalent experience
Deep understanding of leadership communication strategies and tactics
Capacity to manage multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines and consistently maintaining quality results
Excellent skills in writing, editing, consulting, consensus-building and interpersonal communication
Strong business acumen, executive presence and leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
Ideally, you’ll also have
Ability to navigate a highly-matrixed organizational structure and make strategic connections to help drive success
Experience in measuring, tracking and reporting the effectiveness and results of initiatives to demonstrate impact
Aptitude to explore emerging technologies to achieve goals and stay at the forefront of leading communication practices
Broad familiarity with business trends, including but not limited to those relevant to professional services firms
