The Competitive Intelligence (CI) team is a key component of the Global Strategy team, an internal strategy group that assists EY leaders in achieving the firm’s ambition. The key clients of the CI team are the Executive Leadership of EY at the Global Board level, and service line, function, and area leaders. The focus of the CI team is to help the organization make better, fact-based decisions. Our projects cover a wide variety of areas, including market analysis, competitive assessment, scenario development, financial analysis and technology assessment.
The CI Senior Manager role is a senior level position that leads significant internal CI projects to inform and advise EY global leadership. The role is critical to the firm’s executive leadership, as it requires a strategic thinker who can assess the meaning and impact of competitor actions, and relay the implications of these events to senior stakeholders across the firm. The ideal candidate combines advanced research skills with in-depth analytical capabilities to create insightful, coherent deliverables which guide leadership in their decision making.
Working individually and within teams, the CI Senior Manager will manage multiple projects, prepare strategic assessments of key competitors and market segments, respond to ad-hoc requests on competitive and strategic issues, and communicate with all levels of management across the firm. Responsibilities will be global in nature, cutting across geographies and functions.
The CI Senior Manager will collaborate with team members across different competency areas within the Global Strategy team and the broader CI network within EY.

Your key responsibilities
The role of the CI Senior Manager is one that is highly analytical. The CI Senior Manager will provide analysis, insights and perspectives related to competitive activities worldwide. The CI Senior Manager will work independently to manage regular deliverables and tasks, lead project teams, and respond to ad-hoc requests. Work will require independent thinking, interpretation and judgment.
You will develop an independent, objective point of view on the current state of the practice and future growth drivers by conducting and overseeing internal and external research, leading stakeholder interviews and driving fact-based qualitative and quantitative analysis. You will direct multiple projects, programs and initiatives simultaneously, creating alignment and connections to firm’s strategy and to existing and future initiatives and processes. The impact of these projects, programs and initiatives is long-term and enterprise-wide.
You will be based in the US (Eastern time zone strongly preferred) or London. Due to the global nature of the projects and location of key stakeholders, a level of flexibility towards working hours will be required. Occasional travel will be required in relation to project work.

To qualify for the role you must have
A minimum of 10 years of experience in CI or a related role
Strong analysis skills
Demonstrated strength in secondary research and primary intelligence collection (i.e. elicitation skills)
Ability to comfortably connect with senior leadership and manage stakeholder interactions across different seniority levels
Ability to challenge established thinking
Ability to work independently in a virtual environment
Ideally, you’ll also have
Demonstrated expertise in a range of analytical frameworks such as 5-Forces, STEEP, scenario development
Knowledge of the professional services market
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint skills
