Operating Room Inventory Tech I, UHS Wilson Medical Center United Health Services is seeking a Operating Room Inventory Tech I to join our WMC OR Materials Handling department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible. Shift: Evening

Salary range:
per hour, depending on experience. Operating Room Inventory Tech I / Overview Under the general direction of the OR Materials Management Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and in conjunction with OR Purchasing Agents, and department staff, is responsible for the inventorying, requisitioning, receiving, expensing, delivery of supplies, materials, and instruments in support of the Surgical Services program. Maintains storage areas in accordance with regulatory agencies governing storage of sterile supplies.

Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Previous knowledge and experience working with inventory and purchasing functions.
Previous knowledge and experience working in an OR environment under stressful situations.
Knowledge of operating room procedures and ability to work within a sterile to semi-sterile environment.

Work Environment
- Works within an office located in the operating room suite. Supply storage areas heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer with aisle space for movability. Personal protective equipment per operating room policy.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Working at desk/workstation:Physical Demands: Reaching 12", fingering, manual dexterity, keyboarding, hearing, vision, standing. Maximum continuous time - 12 hours.Equipment Used: Telephone, IBM PC, printer, Xerox printer and fax machine, Brothers labeler, pen, pencil, marker, stapler, paper clips, scotch tape, manual, tape, clip board.Frequency Performed: 50% daily.Working in Storage Areas and Breakdown Area:Physical Demands: Reaching, standing, walking, bending, hearing, vision, lifting, pushing/pulling (boxes/carts) up to 50 pounds.Equipment Used: Utility cart, oak flatbed cart, metal tub, Metro metal storage system, Metro movable carts, SPD exchange cart, pen, pencil, clip board, box cutter.Frequency Performed: 50% daily.
