Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES Adult Educator/Case Manager in Johnstown, New York
HFM BOCES Adult Literacy and Corrections Education Program is seeking applicants for a full-time, 10-month teaching position. There is a possibility of summer work; 30 days - July through mid August.

The HFM BOCES department of Adult Literacy & Corrections Education seeks applicants for a full-time Adult Educator working in Corrections Education with criminal offenders. The position is grant funded; therefore, it will be appointed annually as funding allows.
The primary assignment will be criminal offenders incarcerated in either Fulton or Montgomery County Correctional Facilities. The goal is to help participants develop academic and workforce related skills that will aid their successful transition into communities upon their release.
Experience teaching adults is preferred. Proficiency with computers and varied Windows based software is required. The position requires a background check and approval to work in each Correctional Facility. The successful candidate must hold a current NYS teaching certificate, or be qualified to attain a NYS Adult Educator’s certificate.
The goals of the program include helping criminal offenders with the following:
Educational and employment counseling
Develop workplace skills, including basic computer literacy
Start a career pathway
Achieve their high school equivalency diploma
