YMCA Camp Chingachgook Cook (Seasonal) in Kattskill Bay, New York

The YMCA Camp Chingachgook on Lake George is looking to fill the seasonal position of Cook. You can help to bring nutrition and comfort to the many children who come visit our camp every summer. The am shift prepares breakfast and lunch while the pm shift helps finish up lunch and then prepares the dinner. This is a great place for culinary students to get the hands on experience they need serving a vast variety of menu items to a large number of people. Under the general direction of the Food Service Director and the Head Chef, a dining hall cook assists in the preparation, cooking and serving of food to our camp members.


HS/GED preferred.
MUST be 18 years of age or older.
The ability and willingness to follow directions.
Proficiency in using kitchen appliances and equipment.
Cooking experience in a quantity food service capacity including catering and banquet preparation, or enrollment or newly graduated from a culinary arts program.

A current ServSafe certification or ability to receive certification within a reasonable period of time from hire.
