Description

The Arc Mid-Hudson is seeking a highly motivated, experienced leader to manage the Palmer/House 3 residence, located in Kingston. Responsibilities for this experienced manager include, but are not limited to, maintaining agency program standards, providing coaching, instruction, and supervision of staff.

Palmer Center is located in Kingston, and is very close to shopping and the Rhinecliff Bridge.

As an employee at Palmer Center, you can expect all kinds of fun activities taking place each day. The people who live there love to be together as a group and sing songs and listen to music…so as an employee at Palmer, bring your musical talents and join in the fun! We even have a piano!

Do you have a special talent for crafts? Then gather around the table and teach everyone a new arts and crafts project!

Our Palmer Center includes three homes, with beautiful outdoor space. Everyone is looking forward to the warmer weather and enjoying time outside…the people who live at Palmer love learning about plants, caring for them and beautifying their home – inside and out!

No matter what, you are going to be an incredible encouragement to the people who live at Palmer Center. If you have experience working with the geriatric population, or in a nursing home, bring that compassion to Palmer and truly make a difference. YOU will be a welcome addition to the team.

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who report to this seasoned manager, support and encourage these amazing people in many areas of their lives, as they strive to achieve their personal goals and desires, providing interaction and choices for activities that support a meaningful day. DSPs also provide assistance with daily life skills, including personal hygiene. At House 2, it is helpful for staff to have experience working with the geriatric population and those who are medically frail.

The organized and enthusiastic leader for this dynamic role will possess strong managerial experience and excellent communication skills. Flexibility is a must. A minimum of three years of experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is required. Experience working in an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) is a plus! A Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is required. We offer a competitive salary and very generous benefits package.

The Arc Mid-Hudson provides an extensive and informative new-hire orientation in a comfortable, supportive learning environment, with additional development opportunities for our management staff.
