Cook - 4 fulltime, temporary, peak load (H-2B) jobs available 04/01/2023-11/30/2023.
Employer: La Cosina, Inc., 273 E. Fairmount Av., Lakewood, NY 14750.
Duties: Produce high quality food according to recipes and menus or knowledge in a timely, organized manner. Prepare season and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items in a restaurant. Ensure a high level of sanitation and safety at all times. May was dishes as needed.
Work days / hours: Employer will offer 40 hours per week, rotating schedule Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-2pm, 4pm-8pm, 4pm-9pm, 5pm-9pm. 40 hours/week at $15.85-$16/hour. Work on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays may be required. Overtime possible at $23.78-$24/hour. Workdays and shift times may vary with occupancy and events.
Requirements: A high school education is required. 3 months prior work experience is required. Employer will provide on-the-job training for duties that will be required.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds and remain on one's feet during their entire shift.
A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Monday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.
Optional employer-provided housing with utilities for a payroll deduction of $13.80 per week. Drug screening is required at no cost to the worker.
Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $14/day without receipts or up to $59/day with receipts.
