CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER
Sunnyview Rehab Hospital Outpatient has an opening for a Certified Athletic Trainer to work out of their Latham outpatient clinic!

What you will do:
- Work with patients at our Musculoskeletal practice. Perform all activities related to developing, marketing, maintaining and expanding the SPHP/Sunnyview Sports Medicine program.
Work closely with the provider at our Musculoskeletal practice-room patients, provide exercises, etc.
Duties will include, but not limited to, r ooming patients and recommending exercises.
Assist with program development .
Once program is developed, trainers will performpre-season athletic evaluations, on-field triaging of injuries, sideline treatment related to acute injuries, E. R./ physician follow up recommendations, return-to-play clearance, injury diagnosis and follow up referral, sports specific rehab protocols, etc. Will cover any/all athletic events under the umbrella of all contracts held by St. Peter's/Sunnyview Hospital with colleges, high schools, etc.
What you will need:
Must be a Certified Athletic Trainer (per guidelines set by NYS Ed)
Bachelor's degree required
Prefer experience working with multiple age ranges-pediatrics through geriatrics but will also consider a newly certified Athletic Trainer who possesses credible internship experience.
Must have knowledge of a large range of medical problems.
Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions per state licensure guidelines.
Ability to communicate effectively in high stress/pressure situations when talking to patients, medical professionals, staff and families.
Assessment, evaluation skills and working with other healthcare professionals will be required.
Additional requirements- ACLS and BLS -provided by the institution.
