Plug Power Planning Intern in Latham, New York

Summer Internship Status: Non-Exempt (hourly) Department:369 Logistics Location- Latham, NY(Vista) Position Summary Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Planning and Materials Departments in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power's products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program. Project Summary Reviewing BOM logic and understand its implications to Material Requirements Planning. Challenge POU (Point of use) and assumed ADU (Average daily usage) to advise on changes to procurement strategies. Reviewing warehouse slotting and help drive analysis for best flow of materials from picking to delivery. Deep dive into RCA for inventory adjustments in Work cells Help organize the flow of routers to production and help maintain documentation integrity throughout the unit lifecycle. Create effective escalation process for unexpected material shortages from the production staff Core Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power products Work with senior supply chain leaders, Engineers, and management to interpret and analyze data Ability to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliability Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions Perform all other duties as assigned Education and Qualification Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or master's degree in Business or Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering or a related program Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferred Must have good data mining skills Basic analytical skills Ability & experience to: -Pull/generate daily & as requested reports in Avante or similar MRP system -Compile reports to common format to streamline ease of use. -Format into excel, check formula accuracy Some basic level or knowledge of material planning methodologies is a plus, i.e., Kanban, bin stock, PFEP, PFMEA Background/experience with statistical analysis Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality Plug Power Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
