Manually plant, cultivate, harvest vegetables and field crops (soy, cabbage, carrots, greens, herbs, lettuce, potatoes, squash, and tomatoes). Use hand tools. Duties include tilling soil, applying fertilizer, transplanting, seeding, weeding, thinning, pruning, applying pesticides, cleaning, packing, picking, and loading produce. Construct trellis and fences, repair farm buildings, participate in irrigation practices, set up irrigation equipment. Operate tractors, tractor drawn machinery, self-propelled machinery. Maintain farm equipment. Inform farmers of crop progress. Identify pests, plants, and weeds. Record information about crops. Assist with crop deliveries. Handle pesticides. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 3 months of experience required. Must be able to work in cold, wet, hot, and humid weather, and be able to work on their feet in bent, stooped, and crouched positions for long periods of time. Random drug testing may be required after hire at employer expense for both foreign and domestic workers. 40 Hours/week with an hour for lunch. Additional hours required as necessary based on weather and crop progression. Hours may vary based on weather and crop conditions. Days of rest from April - June is Sat./ Sun. Off (occasionally working on one of the days) but June- November work required every day except Thursdays.

Requirements:

  • 3 months experience required.
  • Lifting requirement of 50 lbs.
  • All workers may be subject to random drug testing after hire at the employer's expense.

  • Repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, extensive walking and frequent stooping.
